The Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement directly correlates with travel and race because a lot of the time it ties into police brutality and the darker side of what it is like traveling as a person of color.
this Instagram is a verified account that talks about the Black Lives Matter movement, and focusing on combating racism. "BLM is a call to action & response to anti-black racism." They post photos and screenshots about various things that surround this community. For example, ways you can support the movement, memories of people who have been unfortunately killed because of their skin color, and political awareness.

Along with Instagram they also have a website that brings up the same information but goes more in detail. They also have merchandise, a place where you can donate, a place where you can "join the movement" and get updates on information through email, and also a place where you can report fake BLM websites and social media to prevent disinformation.
The reason I want to bring in this source of BLM is because it ties into travel and race. Traveling while being a person of color gives its own set of challenges on top of just traveling in general. Thankfully over the years it has gotten better as equality among all people has become more of a widespread idea. Even though racism is getting less and less in the United States people can still experience is abroad. They are looked at differently and therefore have to always know that whatever they do has an extra layer to it because of the color of their skin. Like Karamo Brown from Queer eye said in an interview, "It speaks to the fact that no matter how I identify, me being a black man always comes first." This shows just how much it affects people of color that no matter what they are that first, which is so terrible. Instead of being known for being kind, smart, or funny you are known for being black, and that is why people of color can run into problems all over the world in whatever they are doing, because people who are prejudice against black people, muslims, asians, etc.. will look at them with a discolored lens.
